Bowen Treatment for Pain Management

So you've seen all the doctors and specialists, you've had all the tests and scans and at the end of it all you have discovered that your pain is chronic!

For many, this is an unfortunate reality thanks to conditions that cannot be easily cured or treated, such as degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, arthritis, and spondylolisthesis to name but a few. This type of pain often follows a pattern of low-level discomfort with intermittent flare-ups of more intense pain.

Living with pain day-in and day-out is exhausting and frustrating. But you can limit the severity of your pain and the effect it has on you with Bowen therapy.

Experts at Pain Management

At the Galway Bowen Therapy Clinic pain management is our field of expertise. Eliminating or keeping your pain at a tolerable level will help keep you active, which in turn will minimise your chronic pain and help prevent it from getting worse.

Pain Management Program

On your first visit to our clinic we will examine your medical history, test and measure your strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, respiration, and motor function. Then we will develop treatment plans that include treatment goals, steps, and anticipated outcome. During a course of treatment, we will document your progress, conduct periodic examinations, and modify treatment if necessary.

For clients who have been immobilised and lack flexibility, strength, or endurance, treatment plans may include exercise. Research has shown that inactivity weakens the muscles that support the spine and, if continued, can prolong recovery or even make certain conditions worse. We believe that "if you dont use it, you will lose it". Our ultimate goal is to relieve pain and encourage clients to use their own muscles and regain a quality of life.

Natural, Drug Free Pain Relief

Bowen therapy is the application of simple, gentle touch to ease back, neck and shoulder pain and to address a large range of presenting acute and chronic conditions. As an holistic stand-alone bodywork therapy, Bowen therapy has also been used, as support for people experiencing times of stress and trauma, life threatening disease such as cancer and also as a companion therapy to other non-bodywork therapies e.g. counselling, palliative care and meditation.

Bowen therapy is gentle on both client and practitioner. It is so gentle that anyone from new-borns, children, highly trained athletes, pregnant women to the aged and infirm can safely receive a session, even if they cannot receive other types of body therapies.

Wellness Regime

The Bowen technique can also be used as a general wellness regime, to correct minor presenting issues and keep the body balanced and in general good health, thus preventing small problems from becoming much larger ones, which are often much harder to treat and take much longer to correct. A Bowen treatment from the Galway Bowen Therapy Clinic will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
